Audio addiction

Since my last ode to audiobooks, my listening has been fairly on/off. I’ve listened to a lot of Desert Island Discs and A Good Read. Another series of Lunch was on Women’s Hour, which if you haven’t listened to you really should.

In fact that then lead to me re-watching Green Wing, which then lead to me listening to various audio narrations by Julian Rhind-Tutt. Fun story for you there….

Anywho, I wanted to share three wonderful books I have and am listening too.

The Secret History by Donna Tartt, read by Donna Tart.
Her Bunny voice is amazing, just, amazing. Each character is so distinct.

Girl Walks into a Bar.. by Rachel Dratch
Dratch, the underrated, but utterly wonderful SNL woman.
As I couldn’t find an extract (I didn’t look that hard) here she is talking to Randy Cohen on Person Place Thing.

Backstory by David Mitchel
I melted when he began talking about Victoria Coren.

What are you listening to at the moment?

Well, damn, I had no idea Donna Tartt had done her own audiobook, and if I had known that, I would have further had no idea that she did voices for each character. Damn damn. I don’t care about audiobooks but you are forcing me to care about audiobooks! I love The Secret History SO MUCH.

I usually listen to random youtube videos about games, reviews on games, or anything I can get. I don’t like to listen to books, I rather read them, because my pace is a little faster than most people. :D

I’m a big fan of Desert Island Discs and womans hour podcasts but haven’t listened to many audio books. Although I did listen to Captain Correllis Mandolin and loved it, even though I couldn’t get into it at all when I tried to read it!
